Effective September 21, 2026
Calythe is pre-release software. This notice describes the website and the local-first application as they work today; it will be updated before any new collection or service is switched on.
The short version
Calythe is designed so project memory stays in the project’s local cartridge on your device. Calythe does not operate a server that receives, stores, or proxies that project memory. When you choose a model provider and supply a key, your prompts and the relevant context are sent directly to that provider under its own terms and privacy notice.
Website data
This static site does not currently use analytics, advertising trackers, or non-essential cookies. If you join the update list on this site, we receive the email address you enter and the time of submission, so that we can tell you when a new version is available. If you email us to apply as a beta tester, we use what you write to decide whether to invite you and to reply to you. If you download Calythe Agent, our hosting provider serves the file and may record standard technical details such as your IP address and the file requested.
Application data
- Project memory: messages, decisions, file versions, attachments, and timelines are stored locally in the cartridge for the project or chat.
- Provider credentials: keys are kept in the operating system key store where supported; they are not written into the cartridge or exported in memory bundles.
- Shared folders: if you explicitly configure a shared-memory folder, verified cartridge snapshots are written to that folder. Your chosen storage provider’s terms then apply.
- Model providers: sending a request is a direct connection from your device to the provider you selected. Calythe does not stand between you and that provider.
Retention and control
You control local project data by managing the project folder and its cartridge. Removing a project from Calythe’s recent list does not delete its files. Exported memory bundles and shared-folder copies remain where you placed them until you remove them. Back up important work before deleting any local data.
Your choices
You can choose not to connect a cloud provider, use a loopback local model where available, disconnect a provider, remove a shared folder, and delete local project data. If Calythe later begins collecting contact details or account data, this notice will state the data categories, purpose, retention period, recipients, and a direct request channel before collection begins.
Changes and contact
Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date. For a privacy question, email support@calythe.dev. This notice does not reduce any privacy rights that apply under mandatory law.
